Product Selections

Learn how to manage Product Selections to create tailored Product catalogs for multiple sales channels.

Product Selections allow you to easily manage your Product catalogs across different sales channels, such as brand sites, regional shops, or brick-and-mortar stores. We recommend managing Product Selections after you create Products and their Variants. Then, to make Products within a Product Selection available through a specific sales channel, assign that Product Selection to the relevant Stores.
Currently, maximum 100 Product Selections can be assigned to one Store.
The Product Selection model is expandable via the Custom Fields API, if the default fields do not suit your business needs.

Add a Product Selection

  1. Go to Products > Add Product Selection.

  2. Enter the basic information for the Product Selection.

    • For Product Selection name, enter the localized names for the Product Selection.
    • Optional: For Product Selection key, enter a unique identifier value for the Product Selection.
    • For Product Selection Type, choose how selected Products or their Variants will be shown in linked Stores.

  3. Optional: If present, select a Custom Field for the Product Selection and enter a value for it.

  4. Click Save.

You can now add Products and Product Variants to the newly created Product Selection and assign it to your Stores.

Assign Products to Product Selections

You can only assign a Product Variant (to a Product Selection) if an SKU value is set for it.

  1. Go to Products > Product list.
  2. Select the Products and, in the Actions drop-down, select Bulk assign products to product selections.
  3. From the Product Selection drop-down, select the Product Selection.

  4. Optional: Choose how you want to manage the assortment.

    • For Inclusion type:
      • All variants (default): adds all SKUs to the Product Selection; new SKUs (added to the Product) will be added to the Product Selection automatically.
      • Only the following variants: adds selected SKUs to the Product Selection; new SKUs (added to the Product) will not be added to the Product Selection automatically.
      • All variants with SKU values except: adds all SKUs except the selected SKUs to the Product Selection; new SKUs (added to the Product) will be added to the Product Selection automatically.
    • For Exclusion type:
      • All variants (default): excludes all SKUs from the Product Selection; new SKUs (added to the Product) will be excluded from the Product Selection automatically.
      • Only the following variants: excludes selected SKUs from the Product Selection; new SKUs (added to the Product) will not be excluded from the Product Selection automatically.
  5. Click Next.

  6. Review the changes and confirm the action.

Assign a Product Selection to a Store

Updating a Store configuration may invalidate existing carts on your storefront.

Each Store can contain up to 100 Product Selections. You can assign up to 100 Product Selections to each Store. For more information about configuring a Store, see Stores.

A Product Selection can be assigned to multiple Stores. A Store's assortment depends on assigned Product Selections and if they are active or inactive for the Store; if a Product Selection is not assigned to a Store, all your Products will be available in the Store.

  • If Product Selections of type Inclusion are assigned to a Store and if all are inactive, the Store's assortment will be empty. If at least one of the assigned Product Selection is active, the Store's assortment will include Products from the active Product Selection.
  • If Product Selections of type Exclusion are assigned to a Store and all are inactive, the Store's assortment will include all Products. If at least one of the assigned Product Selection is active, the Store's assortment will not include Products from the active Product Selection.
  • If Product Selections of type Inclusion and Exclusion are assigned to a Store and all are active, exclusion of Products takes precedence.

To assign a Product Selection to a Store, do the following:

  1. Go to Settings > Project settings and click the Stores tab.
  2. Select the Store and, in the Store settings section, do the following:
    • From the Product Selections drop-down, select the Product Selection.
    • To link the Product Selection to the Store, click the toggle and confirm the action.
  3. Click Save store and confirm the action.

After saving, all Products in the assigned Product Selection will be immediately available on your storefront.

Manage Products in a Product Selection

  1. Go to Products > Product Selection list.
  2. Select a Product Selection and, on the Assigned Products tab, select the Product.
  3. To edit the Product assortment, click the edit icon and choose the assortment.
  4. From the Product variant(s) drop-down menu, select an option. The options available depend on the Product Selection type.
  5. To remove the Product from the Product Selection, click the delete icon.
  6. Click Save.

Delete a Product Selection

  1. Go to Products > Product Selection list.
  2. Select the Product Selection, then click the Delete Product Selection icon and confirm the action.

  3. Proceed to the Product Selection to delete it.
